TAMZENE follows up the recent release of ‘Count Your Days’ with her new single ‘Last Song’ on Friday 14th December. Seamlessly entwining her modern soul influences with a more distinctive and direct pop edge, the track sees the young artist further extending her range with her most powerful offering to date.
TAMZENE has had a busy end to 2018 having supporting Morgan James on her UK tour her single ‘Count Your Days’ selected as track of the week on BBC Scotland’s Janice Forsyth Show. She was also picked by Festival Republic and the PRS Foundation to participate in the pioneering Rebalance programme, the output of which will be released next year.
The young artists and multi-multi-instrumentalist from the coastal town of Cromarty in the Scottish Highlands burst onto the scene last year with her stunning first single, ‘Lullaby’, a track which garnered airplay across a range of radio networks and picked up support from a host of national and international media channels. Having started learning violin aged eight, at 14 she further extended her musical dexterity by picking up guitar and embarked on writing her own material. Immersed in Soul and R&B from an early age, her initial influences came from hearing the Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone songs played around her home- before progressing to contemporary artists like Birdy, Solange, James Bay, Paloma Faith and Alicia Keys. Spotted busking on the streets of Inverness by bookers from Scotland’s Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival- TAMZENE’s debut year saw her perform at a host of UK festivals as well as dates across mainland Europe and the US- including a stand out performance at leading industry conference MUSEXPO in Los Angeles. 2018 has saw her continue to develop her live profile with performances at Live at Leeds, TRNSMT, Sunday Sessions Scotland, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Hampton Court Palace Festival, Skye Live and many more.
